Carbine Studios is the video game developer behind the upcoming sci-fi MMORPG, WildStar Online. Carbine is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the NCSoft Corporation and is located in Aliso Viejo, California.
History[]
- Carbine Studios was founded in 2005 by a team that included 17 former Blizzard Entertainment developers who had previously held senior and lead roles in the development of World of Warcraft.
- In 2007, Carbine Studios was acquired by NCSoft as a wholly owned subsidiary.
- On August 17th, 2011, at Gamescom in Germany, Carbine Studios revealed their formerly unannounced project, WildStar, and provided an early playable demo on the show floor.
