Wiki Issues

List li tag issues

After looking over some of the pages I noticed that the line breaks were visible on the Kel Voreth Walkthrough page. They showed up as " <li</Li>" " in multiple locations. Despite my best efforts, I have been unable to remove them. Anyone know how to deal with this? --(Unsigned by: 14:40, April 8, 2014‎

Link to the class page from the ability box |class= tag

(copied from Talk:Ability infobox) Hey, it would be good if the class listed in the ability box linked back to the main class page. That'll create a smoother experience for people that want to pop in and look at an ability, then go back and look at more.
I did just [[ the class, but that broke the categories so I had to undo it - needs a tweak to the template instead I think :)Ornery (talk) 09:07, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
Little bugs like that are perfect to leave on my talk for now, just to short circuit the process. I have a section Wiki Issues and can just make a sub-section. Just make sure to leave a link to example or offending page. You should be able to make a link for just about anything anywhere as general principle. Later (most likely) the template will do more of these automatically, especially for pages that should exist. For now feel free add links; can use bot to make other way later if necessary. Elinks template triggering captcha

Also, this that you want on the bottom of every Ability page also triggers the captcha, which is annoying :

Guild Issues

Lunacy (Pergo NA) Oceanic guild

In regards to the page being renamed, I expected this after realising the NA/EU tags were indicating the guild's server region, not necessarily their player base's region. I'm more than happy to abide by this as you say it would fit in with the proper disambiguation, but perhaps we could add an 'Oceanic guilds' subcategory under Category:Guilds? I'm fairly new to all this wiki stuff, so whichever option you feel would work best I'm all for it, thanks. --Chichb (talk) 02:19, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

I plan on doing everything I can to make it as reasonable and easy for everyone, esp. in cases like this where need to find each other the most. Is in this case is where a wiki excels. Dutch players probably even harder and other ways easier as example. I posed the core of what I thought was most important and still have a few things to do on that list I gave you. And everything you did was fine as well :) I won't move the page until you have the category and a few of other things in list :) Celess (talk) 03:46, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
FYI, I repasted some of your talk to Talk:Oceanic realms for you and your compadres. Celess (talk) 03:48, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry about the confusion earlier between you and Kim! Like I said, I'm new to all this wiki stuff haha. Sounds all good to me! Thanks again.--Chichb (talk) 06:44, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

No you are doing just fine, and is confusing. Lots of goofy things. And no problem. :) Just let me know what you think and what you need. :) Celess (talk) 06:45, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Talk page issue

Hello, have you heard anything regarding my question then? :) --unsigned

Links In Abilities

Had an Idea put forth about adding extra links into the abilities primarily to definitions but had other ideas as well from Nerdacious. I said the idea had merit but would was unsure, and that I would leave a message for you. here is a link Thank you --Kat ChaosReborn (talk) 15:36, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

See test example: User:Tnargraef/Sandbox/Ability_links_examples

So what this does is that if value 1 is a, the link will take you to the Assault Power page and the second value words will be colored in red. If the value is s then take you to the Support Power page and the second value words will be colored in green. Tnargraef (talk) 02:05, April 12, 2014 (UTC)

Datacube Ideas

Datacube icon sm Vorion: Order of the Makers
I have constructed an early prototype of an Al construct I am calling "the Caretaker". Early tests of its capabilities have been successful, although a number of glitches in its neural architecture often result in systemic network fractures. Despite these setbacks, the Pell have become very interested in the Caretaker, and I often find them interacting with his various nodes...

How does this look for Datacube Entry:Problematic Prototype? Tnargraef (talk) 06:48, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

I'm just taking that practice of being Bold. Anyways here goes [Problematic Prototype]. If you had this in the works somewhere, I'll just mark my testing template for delete. Tnargraef (talk) 22:11, April 21, 2014 (UTC)

The base idea is good, and needed. The temaplte needs to be named Datacube infobox, cause is info for data cube. It also needs to be of lineage of Raylan's templates which is mostly is, and which I can check later after the guild business dies down. Should rename one have to User:Tnargraef/Sandbox/Datacube infobox and can call it via {{:User:Tnargraef/Sandbox/Datacube infobox |nmdfnm=, for testing. Would make Raylan ahppy. Key Moments of MMO History Video Narration

Hey there Celess22, my name is Doug and I'm a member of Wikia's Community Development Team! Wikia is creating an exciting Key Moments of MMO History video that will showcase several amazing games of the genre. We're looking for admins of MMO wikis who would be interested in submitting a short vocal narration about their game of choice.

We want to ask you the question What is the most important moment in WildStar's History? I know the game is hasn't been formally released yet, but how about the BETA so far?

If you're interested, please record an MP3 voice narration of your answer, a few sentences to a small paragraph is fine. If you have no recording software and are still interested, we can schedule a Skype call to record! Please send the finished recording to and you'll be featured in the video to represent your community! Thank you and have a good one! Telegraph (T/t)emplates

Hey chief, can you rename Category:Telegraph_Templates to a lowercase second t? I wasn't aware of the policy around capitalisation of cats. Thanks! Ornery (talk) 08:13, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Its not a cat thing but a not using title-case thing when not necessary thing :) Like if someone put "Bob Bob" no one could ever put: The blah is a bob bob. And stuck at: The blah is a bob Bob. Here we define terms and things of structure as pages, and we are taught that those titles of documents are capitalized, which is great until everything becomes defined and has pages, as wiki is intended and encouraged. At that point you have cataclysm of paragraph weirdness where every word nearly could end up capitalized. And other reasons. Similar to the naming singular unless is special list, Celess (talk) 18:03, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
Lol I miss read that, yes i'll fix it. You can't rename cats though, you have to make new and redirect. Celess (talk) 18:08, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, my userpage is the same globally across Wikia, would you like me to remove it from this wiki? Flawless Diva (talk) 01:09, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

Fan lore videos

Is it alright if I put my lore videos on the wikia? They follow a outline of each races lore. Thank you for reading. --User:Kellth (unsigned)

Thank you for asking, if not sure. :) Lore videos usually would go in the Media section. So yes, of course, just not as you placed it on Aurin normally, which was very cool, but has long term issues ;) Videos can *always* be placed in the media section so long as don't violate DNP, and should be placed in order were added chronologically. See WildStarWiki:Manual of Style for how those sections should look. Fan art and lore are usually marked as such as well.
The underlying rules are: if it was text (or spoken word, images, or visual part of video) from a referenceable source, then per normal guidelines *could* be "inline" with the regular article body. However in the case of user videos, normally those are not inline because their sources are not easily referenceable, and are not easily changed by regular wiki-ans like wiki text is to correct or annotate, either for disambiguation issues, patch or expansion changes, and so forth. And because is hard to identify because someone would have to watch whole video each time rather than scanning text. Images are differnt because are easier to spot and move around the page. I'm probably going to make the neutrality policy guide thing next, along with the video/image policy, which deals with upload etc., and together would go a long way to explain this better than I can do here. Site redirects and user pages

For the site redirects message you left me, could you elaborate - assuming it's still happening?

Also, I'm not sure what issue with have with user pages if they aren't WildStar connected. Certainly if they're about another game/site, etc. I can see that, but if it's just a simple greeting or blurb about the user, that shouldn't be a problem. Let me know if there was an issue I wasn't seeing, though (re: Flawless Diva). Raylan13@fandom (talk) 19:36, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Using ability infoboxes inside AMP infoboxes

I just want to know if there would be any issues with using ability infoboxes within AMP infoboxes.  I put the ability infobox into the AMP infobox for the AMP: Annihilation page and it seems to work out well; it provides information of the skill referenced in the AMP description without having the user open up another page to get info about said refrenced skill (ex. AMP: Power Link).  I'm aware that AMP: Annihilation can't be edited in Visual mode due to "complex code," but the benifit of a quick scan of an ability is pretty appealing.  I would like to know how editing of AMP pages refrencing abilities should be dealt with before I break something XD.  --SmartManne (talk) 03:41, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

I see what you mean. And yes is ok to use special links like when you use {{Tooltip}} nearly anywhere. Some types even have a special template just for them, like {{amp|<someamp>}}. So the special link is ok on the AMP page and in the infobox data. Thank you for asking :). Probably something should be added to the style guide about infobox etiquette before this is all over :) Celess (talk) 03:54, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

Manual of Style and guidelines

Hey Celess. Long time no talk to.  I am one of the Admins and the Bcrat over at Skyforge Wikia and currently working directly with the publishers of the game for information and assets much as I did here at WildStar Wiki. Unfortunately, I don't have a Manual of Style or any guidelines for that matter set up over there and I just had two users create over 300 placeholder pages and then leave them. I also don't have your eloquence or writing style so I am 'borrowing' items and paragraphs I can use from the Manual of Style you wrote for WildStar Wiki. I didn't think you would mind but wanted to say something anyway. Hope all is well for you! Pinkachu@fandom (talk) 18:31, August 9, 2015 (UTC)

Hi Celess,

This is Alicia from China. I'm in a union of WILDSTAR players. We saw your wiki about Minning which is quite useful for us. Do you have any articles regarding skills or experiences like that? So that we can advise more kinds of skills or experince to our players in China.

Your kindl reply will be highly appreciated if you can send such infos to us via my e-mail address:

Merging this wiki with Gamepedia's official Wildstar Wiki

Hey Celess22!

Did you know there is a Wildstar Wiki over on Gamepedia, and it's officially recognized by the developers? Would you be interested in merging your wiki into the official one, so that there's one single definitive wiki resource for fans of the game?

We could give you admin rights on the Gamepedia wiki, so you would retain your status. Any content you've added here could be transferred over so you don't lose your work. The wiki here could be archived, so it remains visible, but points visitors towards the new, combined wiki. And, in addition, every wiki on Gamepedia has a wiki manager, meaning a staff member who is there just to support that wiki. You'd have a direct line to staff if you need help or advice or have feedback on the site.

What do you think? Mira Laime (talk) 23:34, June 29, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your quick response! By "it's fine", do you mean "yes, let's merge, and do give me admin rights on Gamepedia" or "nah, things are fine as they are, I don't want to merge"? I'm afraid I can't quite make out what you meant.
It's indeed possible that the Fandom wiki here also received some official support at some point. When a wiki is marked as official in the way the Gamepedia wiki is, that means Gamepedia staff had direct and verified contact with the game developer and they mutually agreed to a partnership. If the game developer also supported the Fandom wiki, that is odd - why would they feed into a situation that creates competing wikis? - but we'll see if we can get to the bottom of this. Mira Laime (talk) 00:55, July 2, 2020 (UTC)
Just double-checking to make sure I'm not misunderstanding you and possibly doing something you really didn't want: So you're okay with this wiki being archived (= made read-only) and visitors seeing a banner pointing them to the Gamepedia wiki? If so, I'll make that change one week from now, unless you're not okay with this and let me know before then. Mira Laime (talk) 23:44, July 16, 2020 (UTC)
